The key reason why racism remains alive and well in America

In our faltering efforts to deal with race in this country, a great deal of time is devoted to responding to symptoms rather than root causes. That may help explain why racism keeps repeating itself.

In February 2013, Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity was suspended by Washington University in St. Louis after the fraternity’s pledges were accused of singing racial slurs to African American students.
Last November, the University of Connecticut suspended Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity after a confrontation with members of the historically black Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in which AKAs were called racially and sexually charged epithets.

This year in March, a University of Maryland student resigned from Kappa Sigma fraternity after being suspended for sending an e-mail containing racially and sexually suggestive language about African American, Indian and Asian women.

We have not seen the end of racist fraternity and sorority actions on college campuses.
That’s because the actions taken in response to these incidents by well-meaning universities were directed at symptoms. Epithets, chants and derogatory language about African Americans are indicators of an underlying problem within the offending white students, namely an antagonism against blacks based upon feelings of white superiority. With suspensions and expulsions, the college community rids itself of a particular manifestation but not the underlying problem, which is racial prejudice.

The United States has been treating evidence of racism, and not the causes, since the Civil War.
Slavery; “separate but equal”; segregated pools, buses, trains and water fountains; workplace and housing discrimination; and other forms of bias and animus have served as painful barometers of the nation’s racial health. They have been, however, treated like the pain that accompanies a broken leg. The effort was to treat or reduce the agonizing symptoms of the break rather than fix it.

The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution extended civil and legal protections to former slaves. They eased the pain, but the leg was still broken.

Anti-lynching laws scattered the lynch mobs. But the pain flared up again with beatings, bombings and assassinations.
Our nation responded to racial anguish with a variety of measures: the 1954 Brown school desegregation decision, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the 1965 Voting Rights Act and numerous rules and regulations to address those things that caused generations of African Americans — when the shades were drawn — to groan, weep, grit their teeth and swear that their children would not experience the demeaning, disrespectful and immoral treatment that they had to endure.
However, these legal remedies, while addressing the excruciating racial pain, didn’t deal with the enduring problem: the racism itself that caused the South to secede from the Union; that led state legislatures and governors to birth Jim Crow laws; that sparked the KKK’s reign of terror; and that encouraged school districts and town zoning officials to institutionalize barriers against black citizens in housing, education and employment. And racism is still at it in the 21st century. All you have to do is look at those frat boys cited above to see that it’s going strong.

Witness, too, the enactment of laws passed since President Obama’s 2008 election to make it harder for African Americans to vote.

And then there is Dylann Roof, the alleged Charleston, S.C., assassin who takes his place among storied anti-black murderers such as James Earl Ray, who killed the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.; the Klansmen who bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., killing four little black girls; and Samuel H. Bowers Jr., the imperial wizard of the Mississippi White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, who with his KKK brethren murdered three civil rights workers.

Oh, yes, Roof has plenty of company; not necessarily in his homicidal rage but in his ideology. The manifesto that he purportedly wrote is replete with bigoted remarks common to right-wing talk radio and posted on Web sites.

Dylann Roof is this week’s manifestation of our racial sickness. But Roof and his ideological forbear President Jefferson Davis of the Confederate States of America and those Sigma Alpha Epsilon brothers are symptoms of the same problem. Until we get at the root cause, the problem lives on.

Did a Md. man order a hit on his uncle to keep him from testifying in court?

The trial of a man who prosecutors say ordered a hit on his uncle to evade a possible murder conviction is expected to start on Monday in Prince George’s County.

Brian C. Mayhew, 23, has been charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly made a series of jailhouse phone calls instructing two other men to murder Nicoh Mayhew, 26. Two other men have also been charged with first degree murder: Stanley Winston, 24, and Anthony Cannon, 26. Both Winston and Cannon are accused of carrying out Nicoh Mayhew’s slaying while Brian Mayhew was in jail.

Prosecutors accuse Brian Mayhew of ordering the execution of his uncle in order to cover up his role in the 2011 fatal shootings of Sean Ellis, 24 and Anthony McKelvin, 28. Prosecutors said Brian Mayhew had planned to burn Ellis’s and McKelvin’s bodies but no one had a match.

In grand jury proceedings, Nicoh Mayhew said that at his nephew’s request, he brought gas and bleach to the scene where Ellis and McKelvin were later found dead. Nicoh Mayhew was set to testify against his nephew but was slain outside of a Capitol Heights apartment building in December 2012. He was shot in the head while carrying his 2-year-old son just months before the trial in Ellis and McKelvin’s killings was set to begin.

Despite missing Nicoh Mayhew as a key witness, a jury convicted Brian Mayhew of first-degree murder in February 2014.
Mayhew, Winston and Cannon will all be tried together in proceedings that are expected to last about two weeks.

Just like my coworkers from the Patent and Trademark Office did the same to me in a failed attempt beheading (see pic) such the EEOC case again them would go away.

Greece, like laissez faire economic

that resulted in the 2008 Global Financial Systemic meltdown, been practicing a failed economic theory for Greece. Greece can chose to continue to practice this failed econmic theory, or whip everything out and start from scratch, which I recommend.

Hopeful the rest of the world learned what not to do for their economy, or else their country will end up in the same place.

Open letter to Mr. Rodriguez, the Landlord.

Open letter to Mr. Rodriguez, the Landlord.

Why are you (Mr. Rodriguez), and you (Tblets), so hostile toward me the last month?  This had never happen before.

Since I had only been nice and respectful toward everyone (please don’t interpret this as being a push-over.  I had proven I am not), I want to know if is Sammy been bad mouthing me again, as he does to other people.  He even complained about one hair in the sink, while continuously complained about the mess in their own kitchen and bathroom, but always left a mess in this kitchen which he had tried to accuse me of, in the middle of his mess while he cooks, to Mr. Rodriguez.  The wet floor and the wet table are still a problem today.

While I was using the microwave, he was standing next to the sink and looked down my shirt and touched my buttock.  I suspected he had tried to solicit sex from me twice, but due to his poor English (recent immigrant from Africa), I thought he was asking for screws/nails and told him to ask Mr. Rodriguez.  Nobody is safe with him keeping bad mouthing.

How often, you, Mr. Rodriguez acting on what Sammy told you?  We can all leave and all you have is Sammy living here if you like.

If you want me to leave, just say the word, you don’t have to keep abusing me.

Often, we are looking for other people to make the world a better place to live.  But each one of us have the power to change the world, simply by doing our part as mentioned above - be kind and respectful toward others, as well help others when we can.

And people you helped also pay forward by doing good and helping others, and so on, and so on; someday, the world will be a better place for your kids.

For those who wanted to show their appreciation because you had given me the opportunity to do
good
, and I was able to help, I always say “just pay forward” - meaning go help other people when you can.  You don’t have to find ways to thank me or give me money.  I volunteered because I want to see you guys and your kids live a better life by getting a better job after acquired the skills, such as learn how to follow instructions, computer skills, etc.

I said it over and over again I had to work 3 jobs very summer since High School and didn’t have enough to eat when I was a kid because my parents were immigrants didn’t have the skills to get a better job.
I didn't want this to happen to you or your kids.
I may be tough on you, but only because

I want you to learn the necessary skills so that you get your dream job.  Just think of me as you, and you are your kid’s J

So go out and get your dream job, and help each other.

Mistaken generority for rich

I gave away lots of my stuffs (some were $500 jackets), volunteered my time, and help others in the spirit of sharing, good-well and making people happy.  But instead, people interpreted as being rich.  If I am rich, would I be living in a dump right now??

Some even called me selfish when I given so much material things and helped them all the time.  One such is my current landlord whom I had given a bottle of wine, Xmas gifts (little things) and all my housemates, etc, also helped him rented out the rooms in the same house many times, etc, etc, etc.  They had completely forgotten the good wells I built over time, all the things I had given them and helped them, just as soon as someone bad mouthing me.  This happened in the Silicon Valley, the Patent and Trademark Office, and everywhere I went in Alexandria/Arlington, VA.

Almost brought a Porsche/Ferrari/Lamborighini/Maserati

Every time when I saw one on the street, remind me of the time when I almost brought one when I hit the million$ mark.

If I am a white male in the Silicon Valley, I would've owned all those cars years ago and would have been a billionaire.  As a woman, I am targeted everywhere went, a failed attempt beheading on me meant to kill me, and will die of a curable cancer for lack of insurance due to unemployment.

My cousin was murdered for her inherency

My cousin, an 80+ years old woman allowed her relatives to live in her apartment in Hong Kong for over 50+ decades, never collected a penny from them since she left Hong Kong and moved to NYC.  At one point, it was worth a million US$.

Then in the Early 2000s, she wants to take the apartment back, but her relatives refused to leave and took her to court.  My cousin went back to Hong Kong, evicted her relatives and lived in the apartment.  Before the court paper was finalized, my cousin was stabbed to death.  Blood ran all the way out of her apartment and into the hallway, that's when her neighbors called the police.  Later the police found it was my cousin's relatives hired someone to murder her so she can't claimed the apartment.

These people would murder their own mother for money.

Weak mind

So, people that's been talking to me for a long time have absolutely no problem of understanding me at all, like any normal conversation.   Then when people speak with a very heavy accent told them that "she can't talk", referring to me.  Those who didn't have any problem understanding me beginning to have trouble understanding me.

Yet these same people understood those speak with such heavy accent, that even I trouble understanding, they didn't have trouble understanding them.  You can't made this stuff up!

Weak mind are those who started seeing things others told them, even though what they see is completely contradict what they were told to believe, just as in the Empire's New Clothes.

Tech CEOs looks like genius when

their products are in demand, just like SUN microsystems CEO Scott McNealy, or BlackBerry ex-CEO.

Once they run into competition, they fall apart like a Made in China Louis Vuitton handbag, or a cheap suit.

run into what appears to be a gang

in the Four Mile Run trail between Wilson Blvd and Arlington Blvd.

There were 9 of them between the age of 20-35 years old young males, build, speaking Spanish, walking down the trail toward Columbia Pike, in a formation that took up both sides of the trail.  I took a quick exit to avoid them.  They can take on 30 guys easy.
