China from a Superpower to a 3rd world to the World #1 economy

China has been trading with the West via the Silk Road for centuries, and was opened to the West during the 1800s just as US opened to the people from Asia. The West was known as savages/foreign devils to the Chinese because of their uncivilized behavior which is seen as a savage in a thousands years old China. Just as Chinese being seen as in America.

During the late 1800s, Britain started selling Opium to China and got the whole nation addicted, including my grandfather who die of overdose, in addition to a corrupt empire. The West that consisted of the Brits, French, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Japan invaded China and split the territory amount them.

Many of my Great Grand uncles and Grand uncles die, or left the homeland during the war. Some had moved to America settled either in San Francisco or New York City, that's why I grew up in NYC.

And China has been at war since; until Mao that brought on the Communist regime, also free women from repression. Communism had kept China down for 50+ years, as well as Russia, East Germany, and North Korea. China finally opened up to the West during the Nixon era, and Deng Xiaoping changed the system to a pseudo capitalism/socialism. Now China is the #1 economy in ~30 years.

I found this by accident and have to say I agree with you. But most of China's growth has been since 1979 when the United States granted China MFN status. But nice post.
